Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Isabel Rodrigo (born February 20th, 2003) is an American actor, singer and songwriter. In the latter half of 2010 she became famous for her role as the lead actress on Disney's television programs Bizaardvark (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series). Rodrigo became famous following her joining Interscope Records and Geffen Records in 2020. Her debut single "Drivers License" set records in several categories and was named one of the top-selling songs of 2021. The singles "Deja Vu", as well as "Good 4 U", were the next to follow. In 2021, Rodrigo debuted her first solo studio album, Sour (2021), which was a critical and commercial success. It won several accolades, including three Grammy Awards. In 2022, a Disney+ documentary called Olivia Rodrigo: Drive Home 2 U was released that chronicles her creative process with Sour. Rodrigo is a Billboard Hot 100 singles number-one, one Billboard 200 album number-one, and has five multi-Platinum certificates from the Recording Industry Association of America. In addition to other recognitions she has also won an American Music Award, seven Billboard Music Awards and four MTV Video Music Awards. Time named Rodrigo one of the 2021 Entertainer of the Year while Billboard declared her the Woman of 2022. Olivia Isabel Rodrigo was the daughter of Jennifer Rodrigo, a teacher at a school and Chris Rodrigo, a family therapist. She was born at Rancho Springs Medical Center, Murrieta, California on February 20th 2003. Her birthplace was Temecula. Rodrigo is Filipino American. Rodrigo has an Irish and a German mother. [6][9][10] It has been stated by Rodrigo that her great-grandfather's paternal line immigrated from the Philippines to America as a teenager. Her family continues to follow Filipino traditions and food. Rodrigo began singing in the kindergarten years. [12] She started taking acting and singing classes at age six and started acting in theater productions at elementary school. [5][1313 Rodrigo was playing guitar by the age of 12. [12] She grew to listen to alternative rock music such as Pearl Jam, No Doubt and Green Day. Rodrigo began to listen to country music, and especially Taylor Swift.
