One of her personal highlights was being hand-picked to join Snoop on the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, as well as writing songs, despite the turbulence over the last few years. The songwriting process is a source of inspiration for new producers. Niykee listens constantly to music and comes across beats which spark thoughts. After just five seconds that I can determine whether a beat is worthwhile. After that, I get the idea of a song's whole concept in my brain and I start writing. If I am sitting on my porch and play guitar, the lyrics just appear and usually are done in less than 30 minutes. Niykee's past pain can be a constant source of motivation as she grows as an author. "Even when I don't write about my life directly, the sadness of losing my sister and the pain of my childhood are incorporated in my lyrics," she says. The lyrics are influenced by it and gives them a deeper significance. To me, this is what makes a difference to succeeding.
